Our Services

Assessment & Reports

We can assess your child or teen, helping you to further understand them and begin to answers some of those “why?” questions. Our assessments aim to gain a holistic understanding of a child’s development and functional capability. An assessment can involve discussions with parents/caregivers and teachers, observations and standardized assessments relating to sensory processing, motor skills, play and social skills, handwriting and daily living skills.

Results of assessments are used to formulate goals and establish a plan for ongoing intervention and are documented in an initial report. Progress reports are also completed to document intervention provided, achievement and progression towards goals, current function and recommendations for continued support.

Therapy

At Develop, we provide therapy sessions with a strong focus on relationship building and understand that there is no “one size fits all” approach. We strive to provide neurodiversity affirming support that aligns with the individual strengths and needs of our clients, to allow them experience success and foster confidence and independence.

Our mobile service allows us to support our clients to transfer skills learnt in therapy to the relationships and environments they interact with every day. We use a family-centred approach to ensure goals and intervention occur in collaboration with your support network.

Develop Occupational Therapy Services can support the following areas:

Emotional regulation to understand, identify, express and manage emotions in various situations.
Sensory Processing to understand sensory profiles and implement strategies to support sensory processing and overall regulation.
Play and social skills to build and maintain positive friendships. This can involve sharing, turn taking, winning and losing and considering other people’s perspective.
Fine motor skills such as dexterity, manipulation and strength to engage in tasks including handwriting, tying shoe laces or managing buttons and zips.
Gross motor skills including body awareness, postural control, strength, coordination and balance to support engagement in tasks such as running, sitting on a chair, sports or playing on the playground.
Self-care and activities of daily living (ADL’s) at home including toileting, dressing, sleep and feeding.
Puberty education and support relating to body changes, menstruation management as well as the associated changes in emotions, social expectations and hygiene.
Cognitive and executive functioning skills to support concentration and attention, following instructions, organisation and ability to manage transitions and routines.
